Rediscover your roots
In Person and Virtual Therapy in Arizona
I believe we are all born our true authentic selves but often life gets in the way! Our childhood experiences, day-to-day life, and relationships impact us along the way. I work with clients to sort through the clutter in our minds to understand the meaning. I love to help clients get “unstuck,” close the loop of past traumas, and stop the rumination.
Hello, I’m Anna
I’m honored to guide you on your journey towards self-discovery and healing. From the moment we are born, we possess an innate authenticity that life’s challenges often obscure. Our past experiences and present circumstances shape us in profound ways, sometimes leading us away from our true selves.
My passion? Helping you peel back the layers and rediscover your true self. Life throws curveballs, right? But together, we’ll sift through the mess and find clarity.
My therapy style can be characterized as organic and collaborative. I utilize a direct approach with the therapeutic framework of EMDR, somatic experiencing, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing to help you on your path to authenticity. If this approach resonates and you feel like we would be a good fit, then let’s chat! Together we can start your journey to healing.
I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Carroll College in Wisconsin. I continued my education and completed my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling through Argosy University in Illinois. After graduation, I obtained my Certified Alcohol and Drug Counseling license in 2006 and became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2008.
I have a variety of behavioral health work experience over the last 20 years. My specialties include working with adults struggling with addiction, perinatal mental health, and the LGBTQAI+ community.
I was born and raised in Wisconsin and moved to Arizona in 2018 to be closer to family and away from the cold weather! I love spending time with my husband, two children, and our rescue dog Zuma. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, gardening, reading, meditation, and photography.

My Specialties
PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH
- Are you feeling sad/depressed, irritable, anxious or panicky?
- Are you having difficulty bonding with your baby?
- Are you having problems with eating or sleeping?
- Do you feel as if you are “out of control” or “going crazy”?
- Are you worried that you might hurt your baby or yourself?
Many of these symptoms could indicate that you have a form of perinatal mental health disorder. Up to 15 to 20% of women experience more significant symptoms of depression or anxiety after birth. Please reach out to me today. I can help to prevent worsening of these symptoms and turn your focus to enjoying these precious moments with your new baby.
LGBTQIA
My approach embraces a positive view of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and/or Questioning, Intersex, Asexual (LGBTQIA+) identities and relationships and addresses the negative influences that homophobia, transphobia, and heterosexism have on the lives of the LGBTQIA+ community. I have over 20 years of behavioral health experience, extensive training working with the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as my personal experience as a member of the community.
SUBSTANCE ABUSE
Early Recovery
For those who are early in their recovery process or perhaps struggling to remain sober I utilized the harm reduction approach. Harm reduction incorporates a spectrum of strategies that includes safer use, managed use, abstinence, meeting you “where you’re at,” and addressing conditions of use along with the use itself.
It is often recommended that EMDR be a complimentary addition to trauma and addiction treatment. Depending on the time frame someone is in during early recovery, I may suggest a certain period of being substance free before engaging in EMDR therapy.
Later Recovery
Considering the benefits of the therapy and its capacity to reduce emotional distress, high-risk triggers, and improve one’s sense of self-worth, it is a highly recommended to assist in sustained recovery. EMDR therapy can play an important role during addiction treatment, if appropriate, or it can be just as valuable during the aftercare stage in the recovery journey.
My goal is to help you unravel the thoughts in your mind that are causing a struggle day to day. Collaboratively we will navigate through the clutter to uncover the meaning behind your experiences. Finally, we’ll work to break free from the patterns that keep you feeling stuck, allowing you to reclaim your authentic self.
I believe that selecting a therapist is an important choice that can greatly impact your success in treatment.
